Join our expert guide for an unforgettable tour along the Upper Clutha River Track. New Zealand’s largest and most powerful river. Learn about the river’s history, significance, and its role in Wanaka and New Zealand, all while enjoying the dramatic scenery.
Every group member will be equipped with our high-performance e-bikes, perfect for tackling the track. The trail is suitable for those with off-road biking experience, offering a moderate grade that is not overly technical. This tour is an excellent way for couples, families, or small groups to spend a morning or afternoon together.
We provide all the full suspension eBikes, helmets, gloves a knowledgeable friendly guide, transport, and a selection of amazing photos that you’ll cherish . Lots of fun is guaranteed!
DURATION
3.0 hours – plenty of time to enjoy the trail and to take breaks to take in the scenery.
CHALLENGE LEVEL
Suitable for intermediate riders (grade 3: see our FAQs for an explanation of our grades.) Varied terrain with some ups and down.
TOUR TIMES: Departs 9.00am and 1.00pm (Bookings essential)
BRING: Sturdy footwear and activewear (e.g. shorts and t-shirt). Please ensure you bring a warm top or jacket and sunglasses too. A day bag, camera and your own water are recommended.
INCLUDED: Discover Wanaka organises everything – logistics, electric bikes, helmets, gloves, and transport to and from the biking trail. And of course an expert mountain bike guide.
You need to be 12 years of age (or over) to use the Electric Bikes.
Allow approximately 3 - 3.5 hours, including transport (to and from the bike trail), photo stops, and plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.
This ride is an intermediate to advanced ride, so its suitable for people who have done a bit of off road mountain biking.
You need to be comfortable riding on narrow trails, steeper hills and loose gravel
You need to have a moderate level of fitness for this ride
All of our tours require a minimum of 2 people in order to operate. If you are the only one wanting to join our tour, please call us to check we have a tour running on the date you want to go.
Comfortable clothes suitable for exercise (not jeans), suitable riding footwear (closed-toe) and a windproof jacket. As the weather can change during the ride, it’s advisable to bring warmer clothes, which your guide can carry in a day pack.
We’ll pick you up from your Wanaka/Albert Town accommodation, and drop you back there at the end of the tour.
